Occupation: Research Associate at the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute
Education: Master of Science in Human Development and Social Policy
Bachelors in Consumer and Community Studies
Bachelors in Human Development and Family Studies
Affiliations: Utah League of Women Voters member
Interests: My policy interests lie in community development, child care and child development, women’s issues in the workplace, race and policy and refugee outreach efforts. Down time is spent on house projects, various creative outlets, exploring what’s new in our city and now serving it.
My hopes and dreams as a Board member and for Fairpark Community: I hope to get to know my neighbors and their hopes and needs, and to also uncover ways the community can help give back and serve one another. My time as an academic internship and volunteer coordinator uncovered many unmet needs of service providers in our community, whether it’s students in need of mentorship or tutoring, meals and other necessities needed at shelters, or neighbors who might need assistance with home upkeep. There are never-ending opportunities
Other information: I grew up on the east side of Salt Lake City, and lived in Boston for nine years after graduating high school. When I moved back home, I fell in love with the Fairpark neighborhood, an area I never knew existed growing up; I had never really ventured north of North Temple. I found and explored the neighborhood on a bike ride one day and knew I’d end up living here. I have called it home since 2012.
